HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution #0996RESOLUTION NO. qqh A RESOLUTION AMENDING SECTION 2.3 OF THE "POLICY GUIDELINES FOR PERSONNEL ADMINISTRATION", CITY OF CANTON, APPROVED BY RESOLUTION NUMBER 796 ON OR ABOUT APRIL 3, 1979. WHEREAS, the Negotiations, Grievance and Personnel Committee has determined that it is necessary and in the best interest of the City of Canton to amend the City's "Policy Guidelines for Personnel Ad- ministration" as the same relates to designation of types of City employees; and, WHEREAS, the Canton City Council has made a similar determination. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois, as follows: 1. That Section 2.3 of the "Policy Guidelines for Personnel Ad- ministration" adopted by the Canton City Council on or about April 3, 1979 is hereby amended to read as follows: "2.3 Applicability of Salary Plan. The official schedule of salary ranges represents full- time compensation in each job classification or position. A full-time employee shall be a regularily scheduled employee who is assigned a work schedule consisting of a yearly average of at least forty (40) hours per week of scheduled work. Part-time employees are those who work an average weekly schedule of less than forty (40) hours per week. Part-time employees shall not accrue sick leave, holiday or seniority benefits. Vacation leave for part-time employees shall accrue at the following rate: Total hours worked in a given year divided by fifty-two (52) weeks equal total hours vacation time at the prevailing hourly wage rate, except that part-time employees with more than five (5) years service shall receive double the hours of vacation time. Years of Service Weeks of Vacation 0 - 1 0 1 - 5 1 5 and over 2 (One week for part time employees is defined as total hours worked during the year divided by fifty-two (52) weeks.) The hourly rate of pay fora part-time employee shall be equal to the minimum hourly rate of pay for a full-time employee assigned to the same job classification. As amended, the "Policy Guidelines for Personnel Administration" shall now encompass under the heading 'part-time employee' the former designations of "temporary full-time employee" and "permanent part-time employee".~~ 2. That, to the extent inconsistent herewith, Resolution #796, passed and approved on or about April 3, 1979, and the "Policy Guidelines for Personnel Administration" thereby approved, are each hereby specifically rescinded. 3. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, and approval by the Mayor thereof. PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 16th day of August , 1983, upon a roll call vote as follows: AYES: Aldermen Horr, May, Carl, Sarff, Savill, Kovachevich.
