RESOLUTION N0. ~_
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING COST OF LIVING AINCES FOR MEMBERS OF THE
CITY OF CAN'T'ON FIRE DEPAR7.~T, I~OC',ATL NO. 1897, INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION
OF FIRE FIGHTERS, AND CANTON POLICE DEPARTMIIVT, LOCAL NO. 759, AMERICAN
FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES.
Liff~REAS, pursuant to agreement heretofore reached between the City of
Canton and each of the foregoing unions, the City has obligated itself to
pay unto such union members quarterly cost of living allowances; and,
WHEREAS, members of the foregoing unions are now entitled to receive
cost of living allowances which accrued to such members during the months
of August, September and October of 1983; and,
HfHEF2EA5, the cost of living entitlement for the foregoing period has
now been determined to have been in the amount of 11 cents ($.11) per hour
for each of the aforesaid months.
NOW, 'TF~REFORE, BE IT RESOLVID BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That the cost of living allowance to be paid the then members of
each of Local- #1897, International Association of Fire Fighters, and Local
#759, American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, for the
months of August, September and October of 1983, is 11 cents ($.11) per hour.
2. That this cost of living allowance shall be paid as soon as practicable
following the passage of this Resolution and until such allowance is fully
paid.
3. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect upon its
passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois and
approval by the Mayor thereof.
PASSID by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois
at a regular meeting this 2 0 t h day of D e c e m b e r , 1983 upon a roll
call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Horr, Workman, Sarff, Hammond, Kovachevich.
NAYS: Aldermen May, Carl .
ABSENT: Alderman Savi 1 1 .
