HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance # 1834Rpr 04 05 11:49a City of Canton ORDINANCE NO. 1834 (3091647-1310 p.4 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING, DIRECTING THE SALE AT AUCTION OF CERTAIN PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE CITY OF CANTON AND NO LONGER NEEDED FOR CITY PURPOSES WHEREAS, the Canton City Council has determined that the City of Canton presently owns certain items of personal property no longer needed or used for City purposes; and, WHEREAS, the Canton City Council has determined that the personal property being held by the Canton Police Departmetrt in the form of bicycles shall be provided to a local auctioneer for advertisement and sale to members of the general public. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows: 1. That the foregoing recitals are hereby found to be fact. 2. Pursuant to Section 11-76-4 of the Illinois Municipal Code, 65 ILLS 5/11-76- 4, the City of Canton fords that the property now owned by the City of Canton is no longer necessary or useful to the City of Canton and the best interest of the City of Canton will be served by its sale. 3. The Canton Police Department has a number of bicycles that need to be disposed of and have determined that the best way of disposal is to have the bicycles auctioned to the general public. 4. The City Council has determined that the bicycles will be provided to a local auctioneer to be advertised and auctioned to the general public. That this Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illimois, by at least 3/, vote of the Corporate Authorities and approval by the Mayor thereof PASSED by the City Council of the City of Cantan, Fulton Caunty, Illinois at a regulaz meeting this 19th day of April , 2005 upon a roll call vote as follows: AYES• Aldermeiz Sarff, Fillingham, Nb:Lleck, Hare, Carl, Hartford, Reed, • West, NAYS: None.
