RESOLUTION N0. 1054
A RESOLUTION ABATING THE IMPOSITION OF CERTAIN TAXES
WHEREAS, the Corporate Authorities of the City of Canton,
Illinois heretofore enacted Ordinance Number 508 which, inter alia,
provided for the issuance of certain bonds as in said ordinance
more particularily set forth, and which, further, provided for a.
levy for the payment of such bonds in the amount of $61,875.00 for
the year 1984 with directions to the Fulton County Clerk to provide
said amount for such purpose for the year 1984 and,
WHEREAS, by reason thereof, taxes to be spread by the Fulton
County Clerk for the year 1984, as above set forth, may ought to be
abated accordingly.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF CANTON,
Fulton County, Illinois, as follows:
1. That the tax levy for the year 1984 for the purpose of paying
principal and interest on the bonds authorized by Ordinance Number 508
be, and the same hereby is, abated in the amount of $61,875.00 for the
year 1984, and the Fulton County Clerk is hereby advised, directed and
authorized not to extend the sum of $61,875.00 of said tax levy, provided,
however, that this Resolution shall not in any manner affect the tax
levies by Ordinance Number 508 provided for any year other than the
year 1984.
2. That the Canton City Clerk is hereby directed and authorized
to provide the Fulton County Clerk with one certified copy of this
Resolution as the County Clerk's authority to abate the taxes as above
set forth.
3. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect
immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton,
Fulton County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 7th day of
Noyenber 1984, upon a roll call vote as follows:
