A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF THE FULTON COUNTY BOARD'S RESOLUTION OF MAY,
1985 IN SUPPORT OF A FEASIBILITY STUDY OF THE BANNER LAKE PROPOSAL.
WHERE',AS, a proposal has been made to investigate the possibilities of
establishing a water reservoir, commonly referred to as the Banner Lake
Proposal, for the purposes of creating a regional water supply and recreation
area; and,
hlf-IEREA.S, the Canton City Council desires to lend its support to the Fulton
County Board with respect to the proposed feasibility study of the Banner
Lake Proposal.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON,
Fulton County, Illinois, as follows:
1. That the Canton City Council hereby declares its support of the Fulton
County Board in its efforts to obtain the preparation of a feasibility study
of the Banner Lake Proposal.
2. That the Canton City Council hereby declares its support and endorses
the efforts of the Fulton County Board to seek possible assistance in the
funding of the feasibility study through the State of Illinois.
3. That the Canton City Clerk is hereby directed to forward certified
copies of this Resolution to each of: Senator Laura Kent Donahue, Senator
Richard Luft, Representative Thomas Homer, and Representative Kent Slater.
Further, that the Canton City Clerk is hereby further directed to forward
certified copies of this Resolution to such other parties or person as may
be directed by the office of the Mayor of the City of Canton.
4. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately
upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County,
Illinois and approval by the Mayor thereof.
PASSID by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois
at a regular meeting this 21s t day of May , 1985 upon a roll call vote as
follows:
AYES: Aldermen Kovachevich, Zilly, Falcone, Sarff, Workman,
Bohler, May, Chapman.
NAYS: None .
ABSENT: Absent.
