AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF CERTAIN PERSONAL
PROPERTY OWNED BY THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, in the opinion of the corporate authorities of the City of Canton it is
no longer necessary or useful to or in the best interests of the City of Canton to retain the
following described personal property now owned by it:
Fluid Concepts, Inc.
Model C3-7 Air Compressor
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby authorizes the Fire Chief to accept sealed
bids from other fire departments; and
WHEREAS, the City of Canton through the Fire Chief is authorized to sell to the
highest bidder the above property in excess of $2,500.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois, as follows:
1. That the foregoing recitals are hereby found to be fact.
2. Pursuant to section 11-76-4 of the Illinois Municipal Code, 65 ILCS 5/11-'76-
4, the City of Canton finds that the property, now owned by the City of
Canton, is no longer necessary or useful to the City of Canton and the best
interest of the City of Canton will be served by its sale.
3. Pursuant to said Section 11-76-4, the Fire Chief is hereby, authorized and
directed to sell the property to the highest bidder after notification to fire
departments within the area and to those others to whom notice may be
provided in excess of $2,500.00 without further City Council action.
4. That this Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage by
the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, and approval
by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a regular
meeting this 15th. day of March , 2005, upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldeztnen Sarff , Fillingham, Harn, Carl , Hartford, Reed, West .
NAYS: None ,
ABSENT: Alderman Molleck,
