ORDINANCE N0.
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 3, CHAPTER 9, SECTION 4 (C) OF THE CANTON
MUNICIPAL CODE CONCERNING PRIVY VAULTS.
WHEREAS, the Legal & Ordinance Committee of the City of Canton,
Illinois has determined that it is necessary, desirable and to the best
interests of the City of Canton to amend Title 3, Chapter 9, Section 4
(C) of the Canton Municipal Code concerning privy vaults; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois has made
a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CANTON, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
1. That Title 3, Chapter 9, Section 4 (C) of the Canton Municipal
Code be, and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
"3-9-4: PRIVY VAULTS
(C) Contents Not to be Deposited or Buried Within
City: The contents of privy vaults removed as
above provided shall not be deposited or buried
within the City. If any scavengers shall not
bury said contents as above provided, and
cover the same so as to prevent any smell
arising therefrom, his license shall be
immediately forfeited and annulled."
2. That the remainder of Title 3, Chapter 9, Scavengers, of the
Canton Municipal Code remain in full force and effect.
3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its
passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois and approval
by the Mayor thereof.
