ORDINANCE N0. __~_
AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING AND REZONING CERTAIN PROPERTY TO
THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the
City of Canton, Illinois, that the territory hereinafter
described is not within the corporate limits of any
municipality but is contiguous to the City of Canton,
Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission has
recommended zoning of said property hereinafter described
in accordance with its current use which is R-2, single
family residential, and have further recommended annexation;

It further appearing to the said City Council that all
electors residing in said territory have petitioned for
annexation, and that the owners of record of said territory
have requested that it be annexed to said City.
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That the territory described as follows:
A part of the East Half of the Southwest Quarter of
Section Twenty-five (25), Township Seven (7) North,
Range Four (4) East of the Fourth Principal Meridian,
described as follows: Commencing at a point 825.80
feet South of the Southeast corner of the Northwest
Quarter of said Section Twenty-five (25), running
thence West 225.97 feet, thence North 135 feet,
thence East 225.97 .feet, thence South to the place
of beginning, situated in Fulton County, Illinois,
be, and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Canton, Illinois.
Section 2. That this property be, and it is hereby
zoned in accordance with its current use which is R-2, single
family residential.
Section 3. That a certified copy of this Ordinance,
together with an accurate map of the territory above described,
shall be recorded with the Recorder of Deeds of Fulton County,
Illinois.

Section 4. That this Oxd~nance shall lie in effect
