HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #0827~ a i- ~-` ~ M ORDINANCE N0. 0~ AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING PARKING ON EAST MAPLE STREET IN THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS BETWEEN SOUTH FOURTH AVENUE AND SOUTH FIFTH AVENUE. WHEREAS, the Streets and Traffic Committee of the City of Canton, Illinois has determined that it is necessary to prohibit parking on East Maple Street in the City of Canton between South Fourth Avenue and South Fifth Avenue; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois has made a similar determination. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS: 1. That no parking of any motor vehicle shall be permitted on the North side or the South side of East Maple Street in the City of Canton, Illinois between the East curb line of South Fourth Avenue and the West curb line of South Fifth Avenue. 2. That the appropriate officials of the City shall post appropriate signs and make appropriate markings informing people of this Ordinance. 3. Any person who violates this Ordinance shall, upon conviction, be subject to a fine of not less than five dollars ($5.00), nor more than two hundred dollars ($200.00) for each offense. 4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect 10 days after its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, approval by the Mayor thereof, and publication according to law.
