AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 9-10-2 (PARKING) OF THE CANTON
MUNICIPAL CODE
WHEREAS, the Public Safety Committee has determined that it is necessary and in the best
interests of the citizens of Canton, Illinois to amend Section 9-10-2 (Parking) of the Canton
Municipal Code, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has made a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois, as follows:
1 • That Section 9-10-2(F)(4) (Parking by Handicapped Drivers) of the Canton
Municipal Code be hereinafter amended to read as follows:
Any Person who violates this Ordinance shall, upon conviction or plea, be subject to
a fine of not less than two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) nor more than three
hundred fifty dollars ($350.00) for each offense pursuant to 625 ILCS 5/11-
1301.3(c).
2• That Section 9-10-2(R)(1) (The Placement of Handicap Parking Spaces) of the
Canton Municipal Code be hereinafter amended to read as follows:
Any Person who violates this Ordinance shall, upon conviction or plea, be subject to
a fine of not less than two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) nor more than three
hundred fifty dollars ($350.00) for each offense pursuant to 625 ILLS 5/11-
1301.3(c).
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a regular meeting
this 19th day of December , 2006 upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Lewis, Schenck, Carl, Meade, West, Hartford, Berardi.
NAYS: None .
ABSENT: Alderman Saxff.
