HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #0879-~ .. ORDINANCE NO.~_ AN ORDINANCE RE-ZONING CERTAIN PROPERTY OF E. EUGENE SANDERS AND SHIRLEY A. SANDERS, LOCATED AT 305 WEST LOCUST STREET, CANTON, ILLINOIS. WHEREAS, a Petition to Re-Zone the following described real estate from an R-2 (single family residential district) Zoning Classification to a B-1 (local commercial district) Zoning Classification was filed before the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Canton by E. Eugene Sanders and Shirley A. Sanders; and WHEREAS, the real estate which was the subject matter of this Petition is legally described as follows, to-wit: Part of lot number 9 in French's addition to Canton, in the County of Fulton and State of Illinois, de- scribed as follows: Beginning at the Southeast corner of said lot, running thence West 76 feet, thence North 129 feet, thence East 76 feet, thence South 129 feet to the place of beginning. and is located at 305 W. Locust Street, Canton, Illinois; and WHEREAS, E. Eugene Sanders and Shirley A. Sanders are the owners of the above-described real estate; and WHEREAS, E. Eugene Sanders and Shirley A. Sanders desire to remodel the building at said location for use as an insurance office; and WHEREAS, E. Eugene Sanders and Shirley A. Sanders intend to con- struct thereon sufficient parking facilities to meet the parking require- ments of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Canton, Illinois; and WHEREAS, the highest and best use of said premises is for the use contemplated which requires B-1 Zoning; and WHEREAS, a public hearing was held before the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Canton on March 9, 1981, pursuant to the proper notice published in the Canton Daily Ledger; and WHEREAS, on March 9, 1981, the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Canton recommended to the City Council of the City of Canton that the property hereinabove described be re-zoned from an R-2 (single family residential district) Zoning Classification to B-1 (local commercial district) Zoning Classification and that the zoning maps of the City of Canton be appropriately changed to reflect said amendment. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS: 1. That the City Council finds as facts the recitals hereinabove set forth. 2. That the following described property, be, and the same is hereby re-zoned from an R-2 (single family residential district) Zoning Classification to a B-1 (local commercial district) Zoning Classification; Part of lot number 9 in French's addition to Canton, in the County of Fulton and State of Illinois, de- scribed as follows: Beginning at the Southeast corner of said lot, running thence West 76 feet, thence North 129 feet, thence East 76 feet, thence South 129 feet to the place of beginning. 3. That the Zoning Administrator of the City of Canton, Illinois, be, and he is hereby directed to make the appropriate changes to the zoning maps of the City of Canton to reflect this amendment. 4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois and approval by the Mayor thereof.
