ORDINANCE NO . ~ 7
AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE N0. 863 CONCERNING A BUS STOP ON WEST
PINE STREET IN THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS AND PARKING ON WEST PINE
STREET IN THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS FOR SAID BUS STOP.
WHEREAS, on January 20, 1981, the City Council of the City of
Canton, Illinois passed Ordinance No. 863 providing for a bus stop
on West Pine Street in the City of Canton, Illinois and prohibiting
parking on West Pine Street in the City of Canton, Illinois for said
bus stop; and
WHEREAS, said Ordinance designated the north side of West Pine
Street in the City of Canton, Illinois from the east curb line of the
alley between South Main Street and South Avenue A to a point eighty
(80) feet east thereof as a bus stop to be used for the purpose of boarding
and embarking from public carriers; and
WHEREAS, said Ordinance provided that no parking of any motor
vehicle, other than a public carrier, shall be permitted on the north
side of :West Pine Street in the City of Canton, Illinois from the east
curb line of the alley between South Main Street and South Avenue A
to a point eighty (80) feet east thereof; and
WHEREAS, the Streets and Traffic Committee of the City of Canton,
Illinois has determined that it is necessary, desirable and to the best
interests of the City of Canton to repeal Ordinance No. 863; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois has
made a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CANTON, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
1. That Ordinance No. 863 be, and the same is hereby repealed.
2. Parking of any motor vehicle shall be permitted on the north
side of West Pine Street in the City of Canton, Illinois from the east
curb line of the alley between South Main Street and South Avenue A to
a point eighty(80) feet east thereof.
3. That the appropriate officials of the City shall remove the
signs and markings designating this area as a bus stop and a no parking
area.

4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon
its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois and
approval by the Mayor thereof.
