ORDINANCE N0._ ~~
AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING PARKING ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF EAST GRANT PLACE
IN THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS BETWEEN SOUTH FIFTH AVENUE AND SOUTH
SIXTH AVENUE.
WHEREAS, the Streets and Traffic Committee of the City of
Canton, Illinois has determined that it is necessary to prohibit parking
on the South side of East Grant Place in the City of Canton between South
Fifth Avenue and South Sixth Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois has made
a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CANTON, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
1. That no parking of any motor vehicle shall be permitted on the
South side of East Grant Place in the City of Canton, Illinois between
the East curb line of South Fifth Avenue and the West curb line of South
Sixth Avenue.
2. That the appropriate officials of the City shall post appropriate
signs and make appropriate makings informing people of this Ordinance.
3. Any person who violates this Ordinance shall, upon conviction,
be subject to a fine of not less than five dollars ($5.00), nor more
than two hundred dollars ($200.00) for each offense.
4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect 10 days
after its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois,
approval by the Mayor thereof, and publication according to law.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois and
