AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING PARKING FOR MORE THAN TWO (2) CONSECUTIVE HOURS
ON THE EAST SIDE OF NORTH SECOND AVENUE IN THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS
BETWEEN EAST ELM STREET AND EAST CHESTNUT STREET.
WHEREAS, the Streets and Traffic Committee of the City of Canton,
Illinois has determined that it is necessary to prohibit parking for
more than two (2) consecutive hours on the East side of North Second
Avenue in the City of Canton between East Elm Street and East Chestnut
Street; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois has
made a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CANTON, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
1. That no parking of any motor vehicles shall be permitted for
more than two (2) consecutive hours on the East side of North Second
Avenue in the City of Canton, Illinois between the North curb line of
East Elm Street and the South curb line of East Chestnut Street.
2. That the appropriate officials of the City shall post appropriate
signs and make appropriate markings informing people of this Ordinance.
3. Any person who violates this Ordinance shall, upon conviction,
be subject to a fine of not less than five dollars (.$5.00), nor more
than two hundred dollars ($200.00) for each offense.
4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect 10 days
after its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois,
approval by the Mayor thereof, and publication according to law.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois and
APPROVED by the Mayor thereof this~day of 1981.
