AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING PARKING ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF BIRCH STREET IN THE CITY
OF CANTON, FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS BETWEEN 4TH AVENUE AND 5TH AVENUE.
WHEREAS, the Streets and Garbage Committee of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois has determined that it is necessary to prohibit parking on
Birch Street in the City of Canton between 4th Avenue and 5th Avenue; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois has made a similar
determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON,
Fulton County, Illinois, as follows:
1. That no parking of any motor vehicle shall be permitted on the South side
of Birch Street in the City of Canton, Illinois between the East curb line of 4th
Avenue and the West curb line of 5th Avenue.
2. That the Street Superintendent and all other City officials shall post
appropriate signs and make appropriate markings informing the public of this pro-
hibition.
3. Any person who violates this Ordinance shall, upon conviction, be subject
to a fine of not less than Five Dollars ($5.00) nor more than Two Hundred Dollars
($200.00).
4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days after
its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, approval by the
Mayor thereof, and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois this 1St day of
Deramh,pr , 1981, at a regular meeting and upon roll call, the vote
was as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Horr, Carl, Sarff, Selfridge, Hammond, Kovachevich.
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: Aldermen Clarke, Grant.
