ORDINANCE NO . ~ / Q
AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING PARKING ON 5TH AVENUE IN THE CITY OF CANTON,
FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS BETWEEN LOCUST STREET AND ASH STREET.
WHEREAS, the Streets and Garbage Committee of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois has determined that it is necessary to prohibit parking on 5th
Avenue in the City of Canton between Locust Street and Ash Street; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois has made a similar
determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON,
Fulton County, Illinios, as follows:
1. That no parking of any motor vehicle shall be permitted on either the
East or the West side of 5th Avenue in the City of Canton, Illinois between the
North curb line of Locust Street and the South curb line of Ash Street.
2. That the Street Superintendent and all other City officials shall post
appropriate signs and make appropriate markings informing the public of this pro-
hibition.
3. Any person who violates this Ordinance shall, upon conviction, be subject
to a fine of not less than Five Dollars ($5.00) nor more than Two Hundred Dollars
($200.00).
4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days after
its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, approval by the
Mayor thereof, and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois this 1St day of
December , 1981, at a regular meeting and upon roll call, the vote
was as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Kovachevich, Hammond, Selfridge, Sarff, Carl, Horr.
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: Aldermen Grant, Clarke

The pamphlet form of the aforesaid Ordinance No. 910 including
the Ordinance and a cover s':eet thereof was prepared, and a copy of such
Ordinance was posted in the City Building, 210 E. Chestnut Street, Canon,
Illinois, commencing on December 2 lg 81
and continuing for
at least ten (10) days thereafter. Copies o such Ordinance were also
available for public inspection upon -request in the Office of the City
Clerk.
