AN ORDINANCE RE-ZONING CERTAIN PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF CANTON,
FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS, COMMONLY KNOWN AS FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS
WHEREAS, territory hereinafter described, commonly known as
Fairview Heights, was, on or about February 19, 1980, by Ordinance
Number 761 annexed into the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois;
and,
WHEREAS, upon such annexation said Fairview Heights was to have
been zoned R-2, Single Family Residential; and,
WHEREAS, through an apparent oversight the said Fairview Heights
was, in fact, zoned AG-1, Agricultural; and,
WHEREAS, a public hearing, after notice, was held by the Planning
and Zoning Commission of the City of Canton on October 12, 1981; and,
WHEREAS, the real estate which was the subject matter of the hearing
is legally described as follows, to-wit:
All that part of the Northwest Quarter of Section 27,
Township 7 North, Range 4 East of the Fourth Principal
Meridian, Fulton County, Illinois, lying South of the
North boundary line of County Highway Route No. 21 and
West of the existing corporation line of the City of
Canton, Illinois, said real estate being platted as
Fairview Heights Addition and Kuzinar Addition.
WHEREAS, the highest and best use for the aforesaid real estate
has by the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Canton to
be R-2, Single Family Residential.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois, as follows:
1. That the City Council of the City of Canton finds as facts the
recitals hereinabove set forth.
2. That, accordingly, the following described property be, and
the same hereby is, re-zoned from AG-1 (Agricultural) Zoning Class-
ification to an R-2, (Single Family Residential) Zoning Classification,
to-wit:
All that part of the Northwest Quarter of Section 27,
Township 7 North, Range 4 East of the Fourth Principal
Meridian, Fulton County, Illinois, lying South of the
North boundary line of County Highway No. 21 and West
of the existing corporation line of the City of Canton,
Illinois, said real estate being platted as Fairview
Heights Addition and Kuzinar Addition.

3. That the Zoning Administrator of the City of Canton, Illinois,
be, and he hereby is, directed to make the appropriate changes to the
Zoning Map of the City of Canton to accurately reflect this change.
4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its
passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois and
approval by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois this

roll call vote, the vote was as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Kovachevich, Hammond, Selfridge, Sarff, Grant, Carl, Clarke,
Horr.
NAYS : None
ABSENT: None.
