AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING PARKING FOR r~RE THAN TWO CONSECUTIVE HOURS
BETWEEDT THE HOURS OF 6:00 A.M. AND 6:00 P.M. ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF WEST
MAPLE STREET IN THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS BETG]EEN SOUTH AVENUE A
AND SOUTH AVEN[TE B .
t~RF~AS, the Streets and Traffic Conanittee of the City of Canton,
Illinois has determined that it is necessary to prohibit parking for mere
than two consecutive hours between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
on the South side of ~~Iest Maple Street in the City of Canton between South
Avenue A and South Avenue B; and
WHEREAS, the City Cotmcil of the City of Canton, Illinois has made
a similar determination.
NOW, T1~REFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY Th'E CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CANTON , ILLINOIS , AS FOLT~(JWS
1. That no parking of any motor vehicle shall be permitted for
more than two consecutive hours at any one time between the hours of h:00
a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on the Sauth side of West Maple Street in the City of
Canton, Illinois between the west curb line of South Avenue A and the
east curb line of South Avenue B.
2. That the appropriate officials of the City shall post appropriate
sighs anal make appropriate markings informing people of this Ordinance.
3. Any person who violates this Ordinance shall, upon conviction,
be subject to a fine of not less than. five dollars ($5.00), nor more
than two hundred dollars ($200.00) for each offense.
4. That, to the extent inconsistent with this ordinance, Ordinance
No. 880 passed by the City Council and approved by the Mayor on the 21st
day of April, 1981, is hereby declared to be null and void and of no legal
force and effect.
5. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect 10 days
after its passage by the City Co~cil of the City of Canton, Illinois,
approval by the Mayor thereof, and publication according to law.
