ORDINANCE NO. qqq
AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONTRACT FOR SALE OF LAND FOR PRIVATE
DEVELOPMENT
WHEREAS, the City of Canton has undertaken a program for the
redevelopment of the Central Business District of downtown Canton;
has adopted a Redevelopment Plan and Project pertaining to the
Redevelopment of the Central Business District; has designated
the Redevelopment Area pertaining to the Central Business District,
and has adopted tax increment financing pursuant to the provisions
of the Real Property Tax Increment Allocation Development Act of
the State of Illinois, Chapter 24, § 11-74.4-1 et seq., Illinois
Revised Statutes (1981) (hereinafter referred to as the Act); and,
WHEREAS, the City of Canton, pursuant to such Act, has the power
to dispose of the property for private development by negotiated
sale after having provided reasonable opportunity for the submission
of proposals; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Canton has solicited written alternative
proposals for the use and development of the affected real property
and has received no such alternative written proposals.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois, as follows:
1. That a certain "Contract for Sale of Land for Private Develop-
ment," hereto attached as Exhibit A and herein incorporated by
reference, is hereby approved, ratified and confirmed by the City
Council.
2. That the Mayor, City Attorney, City Clerk, City Treasurer,
and all other City officers are hereby authorized and instructed
to take such other and further measures as may be reasonably necessary
to implement the terms and conditions of said contract.
3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immed-
iately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton,
Fulton County, Illinois, and approval by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County,
Illinois at a regular meeting this 7th day of SantPmhPr
1982, upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Kovachevich, Hammond, Savill, Sarff, Grant, Carl, Larsen,
Horr.
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: None.
