ORDINANCE NO. Kati
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 8, CHAPTER 9 OF THE CANTON MUNICIPAL CODE
BY ADDING THERETO SECTION 9 AS HEREINAFTER SET FORTH.
WHEREAS, the Public Works, Water and Sewer Committee of the Canton
City Council has determined the necessity of establishing authorized
manning strengths for the water and sewer departments; and,
WHEREAS, the Canton City Council has made a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That Title 8, Chapter 9 of the Canton Municipal Code is hereby
amended by adding thereto Section 9 to read as follows:
"8-9-9: AUTHORIZED MANNING LEVELS: The water and sewer !.departments
and the Cashier of said departments are hereby authorized
the following manpower levels:
A. Water Department: Two (2) full-time meter readers,
and six (6) water treatment plant full-time employees holding
such licenses as may be required by law.
B. Sewer Department: Eight (8) full-time employees holding
such licenses as may be required by law.
C. Cashier: One (1) full-time employees.
D. Nothing contained in this Section 9 shall be construed
to deny the various departments authority to hire part-time
personnel on an "as needed" basis. However, no part-time personnel
shall be hired without appointment of the Mayor and advice and
consent of the proper commit~.tee. "
2. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately
after its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois and approval by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County,
Illinois at a regular meeting this 7th day of ~ntpmhPr
1982 upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Kovachevich, Hammond, Savill, Sarff, Grant, Cairl, Larsen, Horr.
NAYS : None .
