AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3-3-14-1(A) (VIDEO GAMING MACHINES)
OF THE CANTON MUNICIPAL CODE
WHEREAS, the Legal and Ordinance Committee has determined that it is necessary and
in the best interests of the citizens of Canton, Illinois to amend Section 3-3-14-1(A) (Video
Gaming Machines) of the Canton Municipal Code, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has made a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois, as follows:
That Section 3-3-14-1(A) (Video Gaming Machines) of the Canton Municipal
Code be hereinafter amended to read as follows:
(A) Definition: "Video gaming machine" means any electronic video game
machine that, upon insertion of cash, is available to play or simulate the play of a
video game, including, but not limited to, video poker, in line, and blackjack,
utilizing a video display and microprocessors in which the player may receive free
games. The term does not include a machine that directly dispenses coins, cash,
or tokens or is for amusement purposes only.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a regular meeting
this _ 7th day of Novanber , 2006 upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Berardi, Hartford, West, Sarff, Meade, Carl, Schenck.
(Alderman Reed resigned.)
NAYS: None .
ABSENT: None.
