ORDINANCE NO. 927
AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING PARKING ON THE NORTH SIDE OF VAN WINKLE
DRIVE IN THE CITY OF CANTON BETWEEN THE WEST CURB LINE OF AVENUE
"F" AND THE EAST CURB LINE OF AVENUE "H".
WHEREAS, the Streets and Garbage Committee of the City of Canton,
Fulton County, Illinois has determined that it is necessary to prohibit
parking on the North side of Van Winkle Drive between the West curb
line of Avenue "F" and the East curb line of Avenue "H" in the
City of Canton; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County,
Illinois has made a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That no parking of any motor vehicle shall be permitted on the
North side of Van Winkle Drive in the City of Canton, Fulton County,
Illinois between the West curb line of Avenue "F" and the East curb
line of Avenue "H".
2. That the Street Superintendant and all other City officials
shall post appropriate signs and appropriate markings informing the
public of this provision.
3. Any person who violates this Ordinance shall, upon conviction,.
be subject to a fine of not less than Five Dollars ($5.00) nor more
than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for each such violation.
4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect ten (10)
days after its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton,
Fulton County, Illinois, approval by the Mayor thereof, and publication
in pamphlet form as provided by law.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County,
Illinois this 18th day of May 1982 at a regular meeting
and upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Horr, Clarke, Carl, Grant, Sarff, Savill, Kovachevich.
NAYS : None .
ABSENT: Alderman Hammond.
