ORDINANCE N0. 912
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE MANNER OF SALE OF CERTAIN REAL ESTATE OWNED
BY THE CITY OF CANTON, FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, the City of Canton has become the owner of record of certain
parcels of real estate hereinafter described; and,
WHEREAS, the Legal and Ordinance Committee, in conjunction with the
Community and Industrial Development Committee, has determined that the real
estate hereinafter described is no longer necessary, appropriate, required for
the use of, profitable to, or for the best interest of the City of Canton; and,
WHEREAS, the City Counci 1 of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois
has made a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON,
Fulton County, Illinois, as follows:
1. That real estate presently owned by the City of Canton, being located
and legally described as follows, to-wit:
Parcel Number 1: Legal Description: Lot Number Thirty (30) in
Anderson's Fourth Addition to the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois.
Common Address: 646 Anderson Place
Canton, Illinois
Parcel Number 2: Legal Description: Lot Number Thirty-seven (37)
in W.N. Maloney's Addition to the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois.
Common Address: 818 Anderson Place
Canton, Illinois
Parcel Number 3: Legal Description: Lot Number Twenty-eight (28)
except ten (10) feet of even width off the South side thereof,
and all of Lot Number Twenty-nine (29) in Barlow & Webster's
Addition to the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois.
Common Address: 455 South 7th Avenue

be let for bids for the sale of such property under the direction of the Depart-
ment of Community Development, City of Canton, by and with the advice of the City
Attorney, and in conformity with the laws of the State of Illinois and the Ordin-
ances of the City of Canton, thereto appertaining.

by reference to the City of Canton's zoning ordinance and map.
4. Transfer of title to any successful bidder shall be only by a quit-
claim deed or by a similar deed, quit-claim in nature.
5. The City of Canton shall show merchantable title to any successful
bidder by either, in the City of Canton's sole discretion, abstract of title or
a commitment to insure title in the amount of the purchase price.
6. The City of Canton reserves the right to reject any and all bids and
with respect to each and all of the foregoing parcels of real estate.
7. Bids shall be submitted to the City Clerk, City Building, 210 East
Chestnut Street, Canton, Illinois 61520, on or before February 16, 1982, at
5:00 o'clock P.M., local time. Late bids will not be considered. All bids
submitted shall be opened before the City Council at its regular meeting of
February 16, 1982.
8. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its
passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, and
approval by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois,
this 5th day of ,l~ni~a~i , 1982, and upon a roll call vote as
follows:
AYES: Aldermen Kovachevich, Hammond, Selfridge, Sarff, Grant, Carl, Clarke.
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: Alderman Horr
