ORDINANCE NO . 9 9 3
AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING PARKING ON BOTH THE NORTH AND SOUTH SIDES OF
SAM SCOTT STREET BETWEEN SOUTH FOURTH AVENUE AND SOUTH FIFTH AVENUE
WHEREAS, the Legal and Ordinance Committee of the City of Canton,
Fulton County, Illinois has determined that it is necessary to prohibit
parking on both the North and South sides of Sam Scott Street in the
City of Canton between the East right-of-way line of South Fourth Avenue
and the West right-of -way line of South Fifth Avenue; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois
has made a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON,
Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That no parking of any motor vehicle shall be permitted on both
the North and South sides of Sam Scott Street in the City of Canton between
the East right-of-way line of South Fourth Avenue and the West right-of-way
line of South Fifth Avenue.
2. That the Street Superintendent shall post appropriate signs and
appropriate markings informing the public of this provision.
3. Any person who violates this Ordinance shall, upon conviction, be
subject to a fine of not less than Five Dollars ($5.00) nor more than Five
Hundred Dollars ($500.00)for each such violation.
4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days
after its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County,
Illinois, approval by the Mayor thereof, and publication in pamphlet form
as provided by law.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois
at a regular meeting this 1 5 t h day of N o v e m b e r , 1983 upon a
roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Kovachevich, Hammond, Savil-1, Sarff, I~Jorkman,
Carl, May, Horr.
NAYS: None.
