ORDINANCE NO . 9 9 0
AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING PARKING ON THE WEST SIDE OF AVENUE D BETWEEN
WEST CHESTNUT STREET AND WEST LOCUST STREET
WHEREAS, the Legal and Ordinance Committee of the City of Canton,
Fulton County, Illinois has determined that it is necessary to prohibit
parking on the West side of Avenue D in the City of Canton between the North
right-of-way line of West Chestnut Street and the South right-of-way line
of West Locust Street; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois
has made a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON,
Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That no parking of any motor vehicle shall be permitted on the West
side of Avenue D between the North right-of-way line of West Chestnut Street,
and the South right-of-way line of West Locust Street.
2. That the Street Superintendent shall post appropriate signs and
appropriate markings informing the public of this provision.
3. Any person who violates this Ordinance shall, upon conviction, be
subject to a fine of not less than Five Dollars ($5.00) nor more than Five
Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for each such violation.
4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days
after its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County,
Illinois, approval by the Mayor thereof, and publication in pamphlet form
as provided by law.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois
at a regular meeting this 6 t h day of ,S e p t e m b e r , 1983 upon a
roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Horr, May, Carl, Workman, Savill, Hammond,
Kovachevich.
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: Alderman Sarff.
