AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 948, BEING: "THE CITY OF
CANTON FLOOD PLAIN ORDINANCE"
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, FULTON
COUNTY, ILLINOIS, as follows:
1. That the following portions of Ordinance No. 948 are hereby
amended to read as follows:
Original Section 3.C.
C. "SFHA" or "Special Flood Hazard Area" means: those lands within the
jurisdiction of the City that are subject to inundation by the base
flood. The SFHA's of the City are generally identified as such on the
Flood Hazard Boundary Map (FHBM) of the City prepared by the Federal
Insurance Administration, effective date June 4, 1976.
Amended Section 3.C.

Section 7.A.(v) shall remain intact but hereafter shall be referenced as
Section 7.A. (v~.) .
Amended Section 7:A.(v)
Section 7.A.(v) shall now read hereafter as:

Original Section 7.B.(iii)
All areas below the FPE shall be constructed of materials resistent to flood
damage. The bottom of the joists of the lowest floor and all utility meters
shall be located at or above the FPE.

It is required that all mobile homes placed within Zone A on a community's
FHBM shall be anchored to resist flotation, collapse, or lateral movement
by providing over-the-top and frame ties to ground anchor. Specific require-
ments shall include the following:

2. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately
upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois and approval by the Mayor thereof.

Illinois at a regular meeting this 19th day of July
1983, upon a roll call vote as follows: '

NAYS: None.
