HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance # 1884ORDINANCE NO. 1.884 An Ordinance re-zoning certain property of Clancel Orvis, L.P. to an AG-1 zoning configuration. WHEREAS, the property described on Exhibit A, which is attached hereto and made a part hereof ("Clancel Orvis"), is located within the corporate limits ofthe City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois; and WHEREAS, the Clancel Orvis Property is currently zoned I-2, industrial, under the Canton City Code; and WHEREAS, Clancel Orvis, L.P, is the owner of the Clancel Orvis Property and has petitioned the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, that the property be re-zoned to an AG-1 zoning configuration in order to conform to its current use, which is agriculture, and to conform to the surrounding property; and WHEREAS, the surrounding neighborhood consists of both agricultural use and the re- zoning of the Clancel Orvis Property to AG-I would be consistent with its current use and the current uses in the area; and WHEREAS, on August 14, 2006, the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Canton met, pursuant to notice as required by law, and held a public hearing concerning the Petitioner's request to re-zone the property to an AG-1 zoning configuration, and, at the meeting, no objectors were present and no objections to the Petitioner's request were voiced, and, after said hearing, the Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously recommended to the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, the re-zoning of the property to an AG-1 zoning configuration; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION: 1. That the property described on Exhibit A and known as the Clancel Orvis Property shall be and the same hereby is re-zoned to an AG-1 zoning configuration. 2. That the corporate authorities of the City of Canton, Illinois, and their respective officers and agents shall be and they are hereby authorized to amend the applicable maps of the City of Canton, Illinois, to so reflect the re-zoning to an AG-1 zoning configuration. 3. That a copy of this Ordinance shall be filed with the appropriate authorities of the County of Fulton and State of Illinois, to reflect the re-zoning, all as made and provided for by law. 4. That the Mayor of the City of Canton, Illinois, shall be and he is hereby authorized to affix his signature as the Mayor of said City to this Ordinance and the City Clerk of the City of Canton, Illinois, shall be and she is hereby authorized to attest such signature thereto.
