Mayor McDowell said-Thank you all for your attendance at this hearing is to provide interested
parties, including the public, an opportunity to express their views on the Downstate Small
Business Stabilization applications funded by Community Development Block Grant funds.

The total amount of funds awarded to address the needs of the businesses due to the COVID-19
emergency was$85,800.00; and was used to assist the following businesses with working capital
needs:
Mayor McDowell announced the following businesses:
Just Teaz'n Hair& Nails was awarded $6,800.00 which was used for salaries and wages.
The Country Kennels was awarded $14,000.00 which was used for salaries and wages.
Billy's Tap, Inc. was awarded $25,000.00 which was used for salaries and wages.
Black Crow Candle Company, Inc. was awarded $25,000 which was used for inventory and goods
necessary to do business.
Buell's, Inc. was awarded $15,000.00 which was used for salaries and wages.
This program has been a great help to our local businesses, and we are thankful that our
businesses were able to receive this assistance.
