ORDINANCE NO. ~9G3
AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A SPECIAL USE PERMIT FOR THE OPERATION OF A
ONE CHAIR BEAUTY SALON AT ADDRESS OF 471 S. MAIN STREET
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of Canton,
Fulton County, Illinois that the territory hereinafter described is
located within the corporate limits of said City, such territory
being generally located at common address of 471 S. Main Street; and,
WHEREAS, a petition for a special use home occupation was duly
filed by the Petitioners and due and proper notice thereof was
published in the Canton Daily Ledger, a secular daily newspaper
published within said City and County, all in accordance with the
Statutes of the State of Illinois and the Ordinances of the City
of Canton; and,
WHEREAS, a public hearing concerning such petition was held before
the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Canton, Illinois
on January 10, 1983 pursuant to notice; and,
WHEREAS, no objectors appeared at said hearing and said Commission
did thereupon recommend to the Canton City Council that said special
use permit for the operation of a one chair beauty salon by Donna
Thurman at address of 471 S. Main Street be allowed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County,
Illinois hereby finds the foregoing recitals to be fact.
2. That a special use permit for the operation of a one chair
beauty salon issue to, and the same hereby is issued to, Donna
Thurman at address of 471 S. Main Street, Canton, Illinois affect-
ing real property being legally described as follows, to-wit:
Lot Number 239 and 10 feet off the South side
of Lot Number 228 in Wright's Addition to the
City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois.
3. That this special use permit is personal to Donna Thurman
at the above stated address only. That any cessation of such use
by Donna Thurman or her moving or removal from said address shall
automatically terminate said special use permit. That, further,
such special use permit is not transferrable or valid at any other
address or affecting any other property.
4. That the records of the City of Canton, appropriate documents,
maps and related regulations be, and the same hereby are, amended to
reflect the foregoing special use permit.
5. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately
upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois and approval by the Mayor thereof.
