ORDINANCE N0. 1035
AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A SPECIAL USE PERMIT FOR THE OPERATION OF
A ONE CHAIR BARBER SHOP AT ADDRESS OF 709 E. CHESTNUT STREET

WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of Canton,
Fulton County, Illinois that the territory hereinafter described
is located within the corporate address of 709 E. Chestnut Street;
and,
WHEREAS, a petition for a special use home occupation was duly
filed by the Petitioners and due and proper notice thereof was
published within said City and County, all in accordance with the
Statutes of the State of Illinois and the Ordinances of the City
of Canton; and,
WHEREAS, a public hearing concerning such petition was held
before the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Canton,
Illinois on July 9th, 1984 pursuant to notice; and,
WHEREAS, no objectors appeared at said hearing and said Commis-
sion did thereupon recommend to the Canton City Council that said
special use permit for the operation of a one chair barber shop by
Charles R. Rakestraw at address of 709 E. Chestnut Street be allowed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County,
Illinois hereby finds the foregoing recitals to be fact.
2. That a special use permit for the operation of a one chair
barber shop issue to, and the same hereby is issued to, Charles R.
Rakestraw at address of 709 E. Chestnut Street, Canton, Illinois
affecting real property being legally described as follows, to-wit:
A part of the Southwest Quarter of Section 26,
Township 7 North, Ranae 4 East of the Fourth
Principal Meridian, situated i'n-the City of
Canton, in the Ciunty of Fulton, i'n the State
of Illinois, the same being the South Half of
One-Half Acre of land, more or less, described
as follows:
52-1/8 feet off the West .side of Block Number 6
in S.W,P. Davis Addition of Out Lots to the City
of Canton.
3. That this special use permit is personal to Charles R.
Rakestraw at the above stated address only. That any cessation of
such use by Charles R. Rakestraw or his moving or removal from said
address shall automatically terminate said special use permit.
That, further, such special use permit is not transferrable or
valid at any other address or affecting any other property.

4. That the records of the City of Canton, appropriate docu-
ments, maps and related regulations be, and the same hereby are,
amended to reflect the foregoing special use permit.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 7th day of August ,
1984 upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen May, Carl, Workman, Sarff, Hammond, Kovachevich.
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: Aldermen Horr, Savill.
