AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE USE OF PUBLIC BENEFIT TAX FUNDS
IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW STREET, SIDEWALKS, AND APPURTENANCES
OVER AND ACROSS THE SCRIPPS LOT.
WHEREAS, City of Canton Tax Increment Area #1 Plan and
Project, as amended, calls for the demolition of certain improve-
ments in said tax increment area and construction of a new street
and sidewalks; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Canton has on hand the approximate sum
of $31,000.00 in Public Benefit Tax funds which may be used for
such project; and,
WHEREAS, the Canton City Council has determined that it is
necessary and in the best interest of the City of Canton to
implement said Plan and Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS, as follows:
1. That the Canton City Council hereby finds that the
construction of a new street, sidewalks, and appurtenances over
and across the Scripps Lot i5 50~ in the public interest.
2. That Public Benefit Tax funds not to exceed $10,000.00
now on hand are hereby appropriated and assessed to the construction
of a new street, sidewalks, and appurtenances over and across the
Scripps Lot, all in conformity with Tax Increment Area #1 Plan and
Project, as amended, and, further, in conformity with specifications
to be drawn by or under the supervision and control of the City
Engineer.
3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of
Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, and approval by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 7fih day of August
1984, upon a roll call vote as follows:
