HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #1030~ „/ti ~ / _ ORDINANCE NO. 1030 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR PERPENDICULAR PARKING ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF EAST CHERRY STREET FROM SOUTH FIFTH AVENUE TO THE WESTERLY I,OT.LINE OF EAST CHERRY STREET AT A POINT BEING EAST OF SOUTH FOURTH AVENUE. WHEREAS, the Legal and Ordinance Committee has determined that it is necessary and in the best interest of the City of Canton to provide for two hour perpendicular parking on the South side of East Cherry Street from South Fifth Avenue to the Westerly lot line of East Cherry Street at a point East of South Fourth Avenue; and, WHEREAS, the Canton City Council has made a similar determination. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows: 1. That perpendicular parking of motor vehicles on the South side of East Cherry Street be allowed from South Fifth Avenue to the Westerly lot l~.ne of East Cherry Street at a point East of South Fourth Avenue for a period of time not to exceed two (2) consecutive hours. 2. That, to the extent inconsistent herewith, all prior ordinances are hereby repealed. 3. That the Street Superintendant shall post appropriate signs and markings informing the public of this provision. 4. That any person who violates this Ordinance shall, upon conviction, be subject to a fine of not less than Five Dollars ($5.00) nor more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for each such violation. 5. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days after its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, approval by the Mayor thereof, and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law. PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 3rd day of July , 1984 upon a roll call vote as follows: AYES: Aldermen Horr, May, Carl, Workman, Savill, Hammond, Kovachevich.
