ORDINANCE NO. 1029
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR PARKING ON THE NORTH SIDE OF EAST BEECH
STREET FROM A POINT 60 FEET EAST OF SOUTH MAIN STREET TO THE EASTERLY
TERMINUS OF EAST BEECH STREET IN THE CITY OF CANTON.
WHEREAS, the Legal and Ordinance Committee has determined that it
is necessary and in the best interest of the City of Canton to allow
on street parking of motor vehicles on the North side of East Beech
Street from a point 60 feet East of the intersection of the North
curb line of East Beech Street and the East curb line of South Main
Street to the Easterly terminus of East Beech Street; and,
WHEREAS, the Canton City Council has made a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That parallel parking of motor vehicles be allowed on the North
side of East Beech Street from a point 60 feet East of the intersection
of the North curb line of East Beech Street and the East curb line of
South Main Street to the Easterly terminus of East Beech Street.
2. That, to the extent inconsistent herewith, all prior ordinances
are hereby repealed.
3. That the Street Superintendant shall post appropriate signs
and markings informing the public of this provision (as necessary).
4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately
upon its passage by the City .Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois and approval by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County,
Illinois at a regular meeting this 3rd day of Jul_y ,
1984, upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Kovachevich, Hammond, Savill, Workman, Carl,
May, Horr.
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: Alderman Sarff.
