HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #1004 ORDINA~7CE NO. 1 0 0 4 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING FUR'IIIER ACTION CONSISTENT WITH ORDINANCE NO. 1003, ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE ACQUISITION OF THE INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER COD~IPANY'S CANTON PLANT BY THE CITY OF CANTON" WHEREAS, the Canton City Council has previously passed Ordinance No. 1003, entitled: "An Ordinance Authorizing and Directing the Acquisition of the International Harvester Company's Canton Plant by the City of Canton" ; and, Wf-iEREA,S, the Canton City Council has determined that it is necessary and in the best interest of the City of Canton that said Ordinance be further implemented by making an offer to purchase said plant by the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows: 1. That the Canton City Council hereby finds the foregoing recitals to be fact. ~ ~ 2. That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to make a formal, written offer to purchase the facility and interests identified in Ordinance No. 1003 on behalf of the City of Canton. 3. That such offer may be made through the City's City Attorney and/or by the City's special counsel, or, in such other manner as the Mayor may determine. 4. That the purchase price of such offer shall come from and is hereby appropriated from a loan fund provided to the City by the Department of Health and Human Services/Office of Community Services which is in the prin- ~ cipal amount of $1,000,000.00. 5. That any such offer shall be in substantial conformity with those terms and conditions determined by the City Council in Executive Session immediately preceeding final action on this Ordinance. 6. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois and approved by the Mayor thereof. PASSID by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a special meeting this 28th day of D4arch, 1984, upon a roll call vote as follows: AYES: Aldermen Horr, May, Carl, Workman, Sarff, Savill, Hammond.
