HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #1003Y ~ t .~ ORDINANCE NO. 10 0 3 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE ACC)UI5ITION OF THE INTER- NATIONAL HARVESTER COMPANY'S CANTON PLANT BY THE CITY OF CAN'T'ON. WHEREAS, the City of Canton has previously adopted Tax Increment Financing pursuant to the Illinois Real Property Tax Increment Allocation Redevelopment Act (the "Act") and has heretofore created City of Canton Tax Increment Area Number Two; and, WF~REAS, pursuant to said Act the City of Canton has previously adopted a Redevelopment Plan and Project which allows the City of Canton to acquire land and other property, real or personal, or rights or interests therein by, without limitation, purchase, donation, or eminent domain; and, 4~IHE'f2EAS, the International Harvester Company owns certain land and other property, real or personal, or rights or interests therein, situated within the area of City of Canton Tax Increment Area Number Two; and, Wf~tF,AS, it is necessary and in the best interest of the City of Canton that the City acquire all land and other property, real or personal, or rights or interests therein, of the International Harvester Company in City of Canton Tax Increment Area Number Two for use in conformity with the Re- develo~.nt Plan and Project of City of Canton Tax Increment Area Number Two. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows: 1. That the Canton City Council hereby finds the foregoing recitals to be fact. 2. That it is necessary and in the best interest of the City of Canton that the City acquire, by purchase, donation, eminent domain, or otherwise, all land and other property, real or personal, and all rights or interests therein of the International Harvester Comtnany, or, of any other person, corporation, or entity in and to the property set forth in Exhibit "A" hereto attached and herein incorporated by reference. 3. That the Mayor, City Clerk, City Attorney and Community Development Director are hereby directed to acquire by purchase, donation, eminent domain, Y or, otherwise, all lend and other property, real or personal, and all rights or interests therein of the International Harvester Company, or, of any other person, corporation, or entity in and to the property set forth in Exhibit "A" hereto attached and herein incorporated by reference. 4. That it is hereby specifically found that the foregoing acquisition is for public purposes and in conformity with City of Canton Tax Increment Area Number Two Redevelopment Plan and Project. ~ ' i 5. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois and approval by the Mayor thereof.
