ORDINANCE NO . 10 $
AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE DISCHARGE OF SANITARY SEWAGE INTO ANY STORM SEWER
CONSTRUCTED AS PART OF THE ILLINOIS ROUTE 9 IMPROVEMENT.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois that:
Section 1. Persons are prohibited from discharging sanitary sewage or
industrial waste water into any storm sewers constructed as
a part of the improvement on (FA Route 689, Illinois Route 9,
Section (27,42,43)RS-1) Linn Street between Fifth Avenue and
the east city limits.
Section 2. Any person, firm, or corporation violating this Ordinance shall
be fined not less than $100.00 Dollars nor more than $500.00
Dollars for each offense, and a separate offense shall be deemed
committed on each day during or on which a violation occurs or
continues.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days
after its passage and approval and publication in pamphlet form
as provided by law.
Definition: Storm Sewer shall mean a sewer which carries storm and surface
waters and drainage, but excludes sewage and industrial wastes
other than unpolutted cooling water.
