AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE USE OF PUBLIC BENEFIT TAX FUNDS
IN THE PAYMENT OF CERTAIN PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS IN CITY OF CANTON
SPECIAL SERVICE AREA NUMBER THREE. (TO INCLUDE AREAS 3A THRU 3U)
WHEREAS, certain public improvements, consisting generally of
sidewalks, curbs and guttering, Yrave previously been made in
City of Canton Special Service Area Three, to include Areas
3A through 3U; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Canton ?gas previously borrowed $35,000.00
to finance such improvements; and,
WHEREAS, it appears to the Lan~On City Council that the
improvements made in ~aiu special service areas are at least
15~ in the public benefit; and,
WHEREAS, an additional sum of approximately $4,534.80 is
needed, as of December 1, 1985, to bring the City of Canton's
financial obligations current with respect to said special service
areas.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois, as follows:
1. That the Canton City Council hereby finds the foregoing
recitals to be fact.
2. That the City Treasurer, City Clerk, and Mayor are here-
by authorized and directed to utilize approximately $4,534.80
of Public Benefit Tax Funds to bring the City of Canton's
financial obligations in said special service areas current as
of December 1, 1985.
3. That nothing in this Resolution shall be construed to
authorize or direct payment of over 15~ of the $35,000.00 project
cost in said special service areas.
4. That this Ordinance shall: be in full force and effect
immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City
of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, and approval by the Mayor
thereof .
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 6th. day of
November 1985, upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Chapman, May, Bohlen, Workman, Sarff, Falcone,
Zilly, Kovachevich.
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: None.
