HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #1075ORDINANCE N0. (~75 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR A STOP SIGN AT THE WESTERN MOST INTERSECTION OF ASPEN DRIVE AND EAST SYCAMORE DRIVE IN THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS. WHEREAS, the Legal and Ordinance Committee of the Canton City Council has determined that it is necessary to place a stop sign at the Western most intersection of Aspen Drive and East Sycamore Street in the City of Canton, Illinois; and, WHEREAS, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows: 1. That a stop sign shall be placed on the Northwest Corner of Aspen Drive at the Western most intersection of Aspen Drive and East Sycamore Street (1400 block), in the City of Canton, Illinois, requiring South-west bound traffic on Aspen Drive to _ come to a complete stop at the intersection of Aspen Drive and East Sycamore Street. And, that every driver of a motor vehicle approaching said intersection from the North-east shall bring the vehicle under his control to a complete stop before entering said intersection and shall only then proceed when a safe interval occurs in traffic. 2. That the Street Superintendent shall post appropriate signs informing the public of this Ordinance. 3. That any person who violates this Ordinance shall, upon conviction, be subject to a fine of not less than Five Dollars ($5.00) not more than Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) for each such offense. 4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force an its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, approval by the Mayor thereof, publication in pamphlet PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, a regular meeting this ~~ day of A.u~uS-t vote as follows: d effect ten (10) days after Fulton County, Illinois, form as provided by law.
