AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING PARKING ON THE EAST AND WEST SIDE OF NORTH FOURTH AVENUE
BETWEEN THE NORTH RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF EAST BIRCH STREET AND THE NORTH RIGHT-OF-
WAY LINE OF LINDEN STREET.
WHEREAS, the Legal and Ordinance Committee of the City of Canton, Fulton County,
Illinois has determined that it is necessary to prohibit parking on the East and
West Side of North Fourth Avenue in the City of Canton between the North right-of-
way line of East Birch Street and the North right-of-way line of Linden Street;
and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois has
made a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton
County, Illinois as follows:
1. That no parking of any motor vehicle shall be permitted on the East and
West side of North Fourth Avenue between the North right-of-way line of East Birch
Street and the North right-of-way line of Linden Street.
2. That the Street Superintendent shall post appropriate signs and appropriate
markings informing the public of this provision.
3. Any person who violates this Ordinance shall, upon conviction, be subject
to a fine of not less than Five Dollars ($5.00) nor more than Five Hundred Dollars
($500.00) for each such violation.
4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days after
its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois,
approval by the Mayor thereof, and publication in pamplet form as provided by law.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at
a regular meeting this 4th day of, June 1985, upon a roll call
vote as follows:
AYES: Alderman Kovachevich, Zilly, Falcone, Sarff, Bohlen, May,
Chapman.
NAYS : None .
ABSENT: Alderman Workman.
