AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING PARKING ON A PORTION OF THE WEST SIDE OF
NORTH SECOND AVENUE
WHEREAS, the Legal and Ordinance Committee of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois has determined that it is necessary to prohibit parking on the
West side of North Second Avenue in the City of Canton from a point 50 feet
South of the South curb line of East Chestnut Street to a point 88 feet South
of the South curb line of Chestnut Street; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois
has made a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON,
FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS AS FOLLOWS:
1. That no parking of any motor vehicle shall be permitted on the West
side of North Second Avenue from a point 50 feet of the South curb line of East
Chestnut to a point 88 feet South of the curb line of East Chestnut Street.
2. That the Street Superintendent shall post appropriate signs and
appropriate markings informing the public of this provision.
3. Any person who violates this Ordinance shall, upon conviction, be
subject to a fine of not less than Five. ($5.00) nor more than Five Hundred
Dollars ($500.00) for each .such violation.
4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days
after its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County,
Illinois, approval by the Mayor thereof, and publication in pamplet form as
provided by law.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois
at a regular meeting this 2.7_S_t day of M~~ 1985, upon a roll call
vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Chapman, May, Bohler, Workman, Sarff, Falcone,
Zilly, Kovachevich.
NAYS : None .
ABSENT: None.
