AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR A NO PARKING SIGN AT THE 800 BLOCK OF
SOUTH MAIN STREET IN THE CITY OF CANTON, FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, the Public Safety and Traffic Committee has determined that it is necessary and
in the best interest of the citizens of Canton, Illinois to place a no parking sign at the 800 Block of
South Main Street in the City of Canton, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has made a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois, as follows:
1. That a no parking sign shall be placed on the west side of the street in the 800 Block of South
Main Street and that every driver of a motor vehicle will refrain from parking any vehicle under
his or her control in said area.
2. That any person who violates this Ordinance shall, upon conviction or plea, be subject to a fine
of not less than Five dollars ($5.00) nor more than Twenty-Five dollars ($25.00) for each such
offense.
3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days after its passage by the City
Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, approval by the Mayor thereof, and
publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a regular meeting this
