ORDINANCE NO. 1055
WHEREAS, IT APPEARS TO THE City Council of the City of Canton,
Illinois, that the territory hereinafter described is not within the
corporate limits of any municipality but is continguous to the City of
Canton, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, it further appears to the said City Council that two
electors reside in said territory hereinafter described, and the owners
of record of all the land within said territory have requested that it be
annexed to said city, as shown by the records of-this Council;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY. COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CANTON, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1. That the territory described as follows:
A part of the Southwest Quarter of Section 34, Township
7 North, Range 4 East of the Fourth Principal Meridian,
described as follows: Beginning at a stone in the center
of Section 34, Town and Range aforesaid, running thence
South 1556 feet to the point of beginning; from the point
of beginning thence South 100.21 feet, thence Westerly 193.25
feet, thence North 150.21 feet, thence East 72 feet, thence
South 50.0 feet, thence Easterly 120.45 feet to the point of
beginning, situated in the County of Fulton, in the State of
Illinois.
BE AND IT IS HEREBY ANNEXED to the City of Canton, Illinois,
and is hereby Rezoned P,-2, Single Family Residential.
SECTION 2. That a certified copy of this ordinance, together with an
accurate map. of the territory above described shall be
recorded with the Recorder of Deeds, Fulton County, Illinois.
SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall be in effect from and after a two-
thirds "aye" and "no" vote of the City Council of the City of
Canton, Illinois, and approval by the Mayor.
