ORDINANCE N0. 1047
AN ORDINANCE RESCINDING ORDINANCE NUMBER 99,6, ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING
TAX INCREMENT FINANCING (AREA NUMBER TWO)", AND ABOLISHING CITY OF CANTON TAX
INCREMENT AREA NUMBER TWO.
WHEREAS, the City of Canton has previously passed Ordinance Number 996 on
or about December 20, 1983, creating thereby City of Canton Tax Increment Area
Number Two; ands
WHEREAS, a certified copy of said Ordinance was thereafter filed of record in
the Office of the Fulton .County Clerks and,
WHEREAS, no obligations were issued pursuant to the creation of Tax Increment
Area Number Two, all project costs are fully paid, and no tax increment funds were
received therefrom; and,
WHEREAS, the Canton City Council has determined that it is no longer necessary
or in the best interest of the City of Canton to perpetuate City of Canton Tax
Increment Area Number Two.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON,
Fulton County, Illinois, as follows;
1. That the foregoing recitals are herein fully incorporated as findings
of fact.
2. That Ordinance Number 996, entitled: "An Ordinance Adopting Tax Increment
Financing (Area Number Two)"; adopted by the Canton City Council on or about
December 20; 1983, is hereby rescinded in its entirety with the same force and
effect as though said Ordinance had never been passed.
3. That City of Canton Tax Increment Area Number Two as in said Ordinance
Number 996 defined is hereby abolished with the same force and effect as though
City of Canton Tax Increment Area Number Two had never been created.
4. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to cause a certified copy of this
Ordinance to be filed of record with the Office of the Fulton County Clerk
immediately upon its passage and approval.
5. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon
its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois.
and approval by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at
a regular meeting this 15th day of January , 1985, upon a roll
call vote as follows
