AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NUMBER 1097, ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE
PROHIBITING PARKING ON BOTH SIDES OF SOUTH AVENUE B BETWEEN THE SOUTH
CURB LINE OF WEST MAPLE STREET AND THE NORTH CURB LINE OF WEST HICKORY
STREET."
WHEREAS, the Canton City Council has previously passed and the Mayor
of the City of Canton has previously approved Ordinance Number 1097,
entitled: "An Ordinance Prohibiting Parking on Both Sides of South Avenue
B Between the South Curb Line of West Maple Street and the North Curb
Line of West Hickory Street", on or about January 21, 1986; and,
WHEREAS, said Ordinance directed prohibited parking on both sides
of South Avenue B between the South Curb Line of West Maple Street and
the North Curb Line of West Hickory Street therein more fully set forth;
and,
WHEREAS, it is now necessary and in the best interest. of the City
of Canton that Ordinance Number 1097 now be amended.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois, as follows:
1. That the foregoing recitals are hereby found to be fact.
2. That Ordinance Number 1097 passed and approved by the City Council
of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois and the Mayor thereof on
or about January 21, 1986, be, and the same hereby is, amended to include
the following:
"1. That no parking of any motor vehicle shall be permitted
on either the East or the West sides of South Avenue B between
the South curb line of West Maple Street and the North curb
line of West Hickory Street in the City of Canton, except
parking shall be permitted on the West side only of South
Avenue B for a point 50 feet South of the South right-of-way
line of the Santa Fe Main Line as it presently intersects
South Avenue B and the North right-of-way line of West Oak
Street, and, then, shall only be permited between the hours
of 6:00 o'clock P.M. and 6:00 o'clock A.M., local time."
3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect ten (10)
days after its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois, and approval by the Mayor thereof, and publication in
pamplet form as provided by law.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County,
Illinois at a regular meeting this 19 day of M~eh 1986, upon
roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Zilly, Steck, Sarff, Bohler, May, Chapman.
NAYS: None.
AssENT: Aldermen Kovachevich, Workman.
