AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A SPECIAL USE PERMIT TO
RALPH T. BOYD AND VERA L. BOYD TO CARRY ON A HOME
OCCUPATION AT 510 WEST OLIVE STREET, CANTON, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, a Petition for Special Use Permit signed by RALPH T. BOYD and VERA
L. BOYD, the owners of the real property hereinafter described, was filed before
the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Canton, Illinois, requesting
that a special use permit be granted to them to carry on a home occupation for
the purpose of selling and taking orders for Blair Home Products and other
miscellaneous gift items; and
WHEREAS, the real property which is the subject of this petition is located
at 510 West Olive Street, Canton, Illinois and is legally described as follows:
Lots Eleven (11) and Twelve (12) in Block Fifteen (15) in Fairview
Heights Addition to the City of Canton, situated in Fulton County,
Illinois; and
WHEREAS, RALPH T. BOYD and VERA L. BOYD are the owners of record of said
real property and there are no other owners of record; and
WHEREAS, said real property is wholly situated within the corporate limits
of the City of Canton, Illinois and is presently zoned R-2, single family
residential district; and
WHEREAS, all petitions, documents and other necessary legal requirements
are in full compliance with the statutes of the State of Illinois and ordinances
of the City of Canton, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held before the Planning and Zoning Commission
of the City of Canton, Illinois on November 11, 1985, pursuant to proper notice
published in the Canton Daily Ledger; and
WHEREAS, no objectors appeared at said public hearing before the Planning
and Zoning Commission of the City of Canton, Illinois; and

WHEREAS, on November 11, 1985, the Planning and Zoning Commission of the
City of Canton, Illinois unanimously recommended to the City Council of the City
of Canton, Illinois that a special use permit be granted to RALPH T. BOYD and
VERA L. BOYD to carry on a home occupation for the purpose of sel 1 i ng and taki ng
orders for Blair Home Products and other miscellaneous gift items; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Canton, Illinois that
said special use permit be granted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON,
FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Council finds as facts the recitals hereinabove set forth.
2. That a special use permit be, and the same is hereby, issued to RALPH
T. BOYD and VERA L. BOYD to carry on a home occupation for the purpose of selling
and taking orders for Blair Home Products and other miscellaneous gift items
at 510 West Olive Street, Canton, Illinois, which real property is legally
described as follows:
Lots Eleven (11) and Twelve (12) in Block Fifteen (15) in Fairview
Heights Addition to the City of Canton, situated in Fulton County,
Illinois; and
said home occupation shall be carried on exclusively by the inhabitants of the
dwelling on the above described real property.
3. That this special use permit shall be personal to RALPH T. BOYD and
VERA L. BOYD at the above stated address only. Any cessation of such use by
RALPH T. BOYD and VERA L. BOYD at said address shall automatically terminate
this special use permit. This special use permit is not transferrable by RALPH
T. BOYD and VERA L. BOYD and shall not be valid at any other address.
4. That the records of the City of Canton, Illinois, appropriate documents,
maps and related regulations be, and the same are hereby, amended to reflect

the foregoing special use permit.
5. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage
by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois and approval by the Mayor
thereof.
PASSED by a majority vote of the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois and APPROVED by the Mayor thereof at a regular meeting of the
City Council on the 21 day of
