ORDINANCE NO. 1b69
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING COMPENSATION FOR
EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF CANTON FOR THE FISCAL
YEAR BEGINNING MAY, 2006.
WHEREAS, the City of Canton, acting through its Council and with the
approval of the mayor, establishes for the fiscal year, the rates of compensation for the
various city employees, and;
WHEREAS, the fiscal year beginning May, 2005 has expired and it is
necessary to establish rates for the ensuing fiscal year, and;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the
City of Canton, Illinois, as follows:
1. That the rates of compensation for the fiscal year beginning May, 2006 for
the various department heads, superintendents, full-time appointive
employees, part-time appointive employees and any and all employees referenced
in Exhibit A (attached hereto and incorporated herein} are to be effective as of an
retroactive to and inclusive of the date of May 1, 2006. Said salaries are in
addition to other entitlements normally and customarily extended to each such
employee. The City Council reserves the right to review the salaries for the Fiscal
Year 2006-2007 after approval of the Fiscal Budget, the conclusion of the Police
Contract Negotiations and the negotiations of any organized labor contract on
which the City Council has been put on notice may come into effect during the
2006 - 2007 Fiscal Year. Upon review of the salaries the City Council reserves
the right to make any changes in salaries retroactive to May 1, 2006.
2. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its
Opassage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, and approval by the
Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, and approval by the Mayor
thereof this 6th day of June , 2006, upon a roll call vote as follow:
AYES: Aldermen Hartford, West, Sarft, Carl, Schenck, Keed.
NAYS: None.
ABSENT• Aldermen Berardi, i~ieade.
