ORDINANCE N0. 1133
WHEREAS, it appears to the city council of the city of Canton, Illinois,
that the territory hereinafter described is not within the corporate limits of
any municipality but is contiguous with the city of Canton, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, it appears that the owner of record of all land within said
territory has requested that it be annexed to said city; and
WHEREAS, rezoning of said property as R-3 Two-Family Residential Dis-
trict is an appropriate zoning classification for the subject property;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPdTON,
FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS, as follows:
SECTION 1. That the territory described as follows:
Part of the Northwest Quarter of Section 34, Township 7 North,
Range 4 East of the Fourth Principal Meridian, Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois, described as follows: Commencing at the
intersection of the Canton and Lewistown Wagon Road (so called)
at the North bridge, running thence South along the East line
of Big Creek to the Toledo, Peoria & Western Railroad, thence
Northeasterly along said railroad about 400 feet to its in-
tersection with a wagon road running Northwesterly, thence
along said wagon road to its intersection with the aforesaid
Canton and Lewistown road, thence Southwesterly along the
line of said last-named road to the place of beginning, con-
taining 75/100 acre, more or less,
be and the same is hereby annexed to the city of_ Canton, Illi-
nois, and is hereby rezoned R-3 Two-Family Residential District.
SECTION 2. That a certified copy of this ordinance, together with an ac-
curate map of the territory involved, shall be recorded with
the Recorder of Deeds of Fulton County, Illinois.
SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall be in effect from and after a major-
ity vote of the city council of the city of Canton, Illinois,
and approval by the Mayor.
PASSED by a majority vote of the city council and approved by the Mayor
this 17th day of February, 1987.
