ORDINANCE N0. 1132
AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING PARKING ON BOTH SIDES OF NORTH AVENUE A BETWEEN THE
NORTH CURB LINE OF WEST LOCUST STREET AND THE SOUTH CURB LINE OF WEST VINE
STREET.
WHEREAS, the Public Safety and Traffic Committee of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois has determined that it is necessary to prohibit parking on the
East side and the West side of North Avenue A in the City of Canton between the
North Curb Line of West Locust Street and the South Curb Line of West Vine
Street; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois has
made a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON,
Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That no parking of any motor vehicle shall be permitted on either the
East or the West sides of North Avenue A between the North curb line of West
Locust Street and the South curb line of West Vine Street in the City of Canton,
Fulton County, Illinois.
2. That the Street Superintendent shall post appropriate signs and appropriate
markings informing the public of this provision.
3. Any person who violates this Ordinance shall, upon conviction, be subject
to a fine of not less than Five Dollars ($5.00) nor more than Five Hundred Dollars
($500.00) for each such violation.
4. That, to the extent inconsistent herewith, all prior ordinances are hereby
repealed.
5. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days after
its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois,
approval by the Mayor thereof, and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at
a regular meeting this 17th day of February 1987, upon a roll call vote
as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Zilly, Sarff, Steck, May, Chapman
NAYS: None
ABSENT: Aldermen Kovachevich, Workman, Bohler
