AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING PARKING ON LINDEN STREET FROM TAE EAST
RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF NORTH MAIN STREET TO THE WEST RIGHT-OF-WAY
LINE OF NORTH FOURTH AVENUE IN THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS.

WHEREAS, the Public Safety and Traffic Committee and the Legal
and Ordinance Committee of the City of Canton has determined that
it is necessary to prohibit parking on Linden Street as hereinafter
set froth from the east right-of -way line of North Main Street to
the west right-of-way line of North Fourth Avenuef and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois has made a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CANTON, Fulton County, .Illinois as follows:
1. That no parking of any motor vehicle shall be permitted on
Linden Street in the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois:
A. On the north side of Linden Street between the west
right-of-way line of North Fourth Avenue and the east right-of-way
line of Lawrence Drivej
B. Between the hours of eight o'clock (8:00) in the
forenoon and five o'clock 15.00) in the afternoon weekdays, from
the west right-of-way line of Lawrence Drive and the east
right-of-way line of North Main Streetf and,
C. On the south side of Linden Street from the east
right-of-way of North Main Street to the west right-of-way line of
North First Avenue.
2. That the Street Superintendent shall post appropriate
signs and appropriate markings informing the public of this
provision.
3. That all prior ordinances and resolution are, to the
extent inconsistent with this ordinance, hereby repealed.
4. Any person who violates this Ordinance shall, upon
conviction, be subject to a fine of not less than Five Dollars
($5.00) nor more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for each such
violation.

5. That this Ordinance shall be in fall force and a#fect ten
(10) days after its passage by the City Council of the City of
Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, approval by the Mayor thereof, and
publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois at a regular meeting this ~_ day of Feb „~_,
