RESOLUTION NO. 11A7
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE EXECUTION AND DELIVERY
OF THE CITY'S CORPORATE QUIT-CLAIM DEED TRANSFERRING TITLE OF A 100
ACRE PARCEL TO THE STATE OF ILLINOIS FOR USE AS A PRISON SITE
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois has previously determined to
locate a State correctional facility in the City of Canton; and,
WHEREAS, at the request of the State of Illinois the City of
Canton has commited itself to assemble the requisite real property
and to transfer title of same to the State of Illinois without cost
to the State of Illinois; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Canton has now been notified by the State
of Illinois that the desired real property is in all aspects
suitable and acceptable to the State of Illinois for erection of a
State correctional facility; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Canton has acquired title to the property
desired by the State of Illinois.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That the Canton City Council hereby finds the foregoing
recitals to be fact.
2. That the corporate quit-claim deed hereto attached is
hereby approved by the Canton City Council.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and
instructed to execute and deliver the original of the attached
corporate quit-claim deed as the act and deed of the City of
Canton, and, also, to do, or cause to be done, each and every other
act reasonably necessary or desirable to place merchantable title
to the real property identified in such deed in the State of
Illinois.
4. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect
immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of
Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, and approval by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 5th day of May ,
1987 upn a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Chapman, May, Qohler, Meade, Sarff, Steck,
Zilly, Kovachevich.
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: None.

CORPORATE QDIT-CLAIM DEED
THIS INDENTURE WITNESSETH, That the Grantor, CITY OF CANTON,
an Illinois municipal corporation, for and in consideration of One
Dollar and other good and valuable considerations, the receipt and
sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged, pursuant to authority
given by the Canton City Council, CONVEYS AND QUIT-CLAIMS to the
STATE OF ILLINOIS the following described real estate to-wit:
A part of the Southwest Quarter of Section 29 and a part of
the Northwest Quarter of Section 32, located in Township 7
North, Range 4 East of the Fourth Principal Meridian,
described as follows:
Beginning at the Northwest corner of the Southwest Quarter of
Section 29, Township and Range aforesaid, running thence N
89°43'41" E, 73.29 feet; thence South 48.28 feet to an
existing concrete right-of-way marker, said point being the
true point of beginning; thence S 42°58'19" W, 68.80 feet to
an existing concrete right-of-way marker; thence following the
East right-of-way of County Route 21-A S 0°38'27" W, 1666.34
feet to an existing concrete right-of-way marker; thence
following the arc of a curve to the left a distance of 1371.50
feet, whose chord bears S 44°42'18" E, 1231.50 feet to an
existing concrete right-of-way marker; thence S 0°07'28" W,
4.5 feet; thence N 89°44'45" E, 680.88 feet to an existing
concrete right-of-way marker; thence N 89°19'34" E, 105.92
feet; thence along the arc of a curve to the right a distance
of 78.99 feet, whose chord bears S 80°55'49" E, 78.96 feet;
thence leaving said right-of-way of County Route 21-A N
0°38'27" E, 2611.84 feet to a point on the South right-of-way
of Illinois State Route 9; thence along said right-of-way S
89°45'31" W, 1694.74 feet to the true point of beginning, said
tract containing 100.00 acres, more or less, and being as set
forth on the attached plat, situated in the County of Fulton
in the State of Illinois.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, said Grantor has caused its corporate seal
to be hereto affixed, and has caused its name to be signed to these
presents by its Mayor, and attested by its City Clerk, this 5th
day of May 1987.

this day in person and severally acknowledged that as such Mayor
and City Clerk they signed and delivered the said instrument as
Mayor and City Clerk of The City of Canton and caused the corporate
seal of said corporation to be affixed thereto, pursuant to
authority given by the Canton City Council, as their free and
voluntary act, and as the free and voluntary act and deed of the
City of Canton, for the uses and purposed therein set forth.
